Weddings in Woodinville 2015 – Citrus Countryside at Woodinville Whiskey Co

Our clients, Mallory and Brian were in attendance

Every year, hundreds of people attend one of the most unique wedding shows in the Northwest, Weddings in Woodinville.  It’s singular in that venues across Woodinville {ahem, wine and whiskey!} come together to create a circuit.  At each venue, a coordinator leads up a team of vendors that transform the venue into wedding perfection.  It’s a perfect chance to not only see what the venue looks like set for a wedding, but to really feature the talents of each member of that team.  It’s an accurate reflection of their real world skills all served up along with fantastic catering and beverages throughout the day as you shuttle from one location to the next.  It’s no surprise that it sells out consistently!

This year, we were invited to be the featured photographer on the team at Woodinville Whiskey Co as led by Holly Patton of Perfectly Posh Events.  Her design concept was a lush and lovely, Citrus Countryside theme.  Together with the team, they transformed Woodinville Whiskey Co’s upstairs event space so that it echoed the wine regions of Europe.  Butter & Bloom created the perfect florals for the concept integrating refined elements of brass candlesticks that absolutely sang on top of the Seattle Farm Tables.  SongBird Paperie set the

tone of the event with their cheery invitations washed in citrus tones and even creating a subtle logo of citrus that carried through to the announcement chalkboard.  Anchoring the tablescape was a beautiful macaron tower from The SweetSide.  Additional elements completed the look from Vintage Ambiance, ABC Special Event Rentals, and the full team listed below!

As if the design of Citrus Countryside wasn’t beautiful enough in the light, bright, and airy Winter day we had, at about 2pm, a stream of sunlight beamed in and created the most romantic and {I think} Renaissance style mood amongst the lush florals and deep wood tones.  We just adore this set of images and hope you do, too!

Colorful Ballerina Pictures Around Seattle

Sophia’s ballet shoot across Seattle was full of surprises as an arts festival full of interactive displays greeted us in Pioneer Square.  Instead of running from the crowds, Sophia dazzled them and we’re sure she’s on tons of cell phones now as people were fascinated!  Enjoy!

engagement photos on a classic cloudy seattle day

I swear, we only know about cool stuff in town because of our awesome clients.  Without them, we would be lost.  For example, sure – we’d *heard* about Bathtub Gin & Co. but unleashing and treating ourselves to a trip there just never happened. Then, as we were chatting with Lisa and Ryan about what they loved to do and what seemed like “them” to create their engagement session – there it was – the suggestion to begin there.  The coolest thing was, as we walked in – they had no idea they were sitting in AMAZING light!  Check out their cute and quintessential Seattle engagement photos below!

A Rainier Club Wedding in Black and White

If you’ve been on our Alante Photography Facebook page, it’s probably pretty obvious that Loren and I love the classic feel of a black and white photo.  It’s been on my to do list to create and entire, timeless wedding completely done in black and white for a while so when I was thinking back to some of our recent weddings, the sweet moments between Melissa and Tay0h along with the stunning architecture of their venue, The Rainier Club was an irresistible choice.  Those chandeliers, that staircase, the old world charm of the ceilings – the venue is a perfect architectural fit for classic weddings!  Enjoy a look at their day below!

Our unending appreciation to our fellow vendors:

Modern Wedding at Holy Names Academy and Washington Athletic Club

I like to call Ariana and Brandon our jet set couple.  They are so well traveled and incredibly stylish.  Their engagement story alone took place across the world!

Ariana and Brandon get engaged:

”It started in October 2012 when Brandon told Ariana to request vacation for the second week in December. Without asking much, she did. Two months passed and before she knew it, it was December 1st, but she still had no idea where she was traveling to!

After much effort to find any information out from friends and family, Brandon told her to pack a passport and winter-like clothing. It was until about 30 minutes before the cab arrived for the airport that Ariana found out her secret destination. Brandon had set out clues to reveal the location — travel itinerary, yen, soy sauce and Japanese rice. With Ariana being so anxious and excited she missed all of the obvious clues and when straight for the travel itinerary…TOKYO! They were headed to Toykyo, Japan in the next 2 hours.

10 hours later, two global first class seats, lots of excitement and sleep they finally landed in Tokyo. After checking into the hotel, Brandon wanted to take Ariana to an area in the middle of the city called Shibuya (think Times Square in NY). After some sight-seeing and dinner, Brandon took Ariana back to the main square where he got down on one knee and proposed. A large crowd had gathered, people were clapping, taking photos and congratulating them. Their engagement date was 12/12/12!!”

Their wedding here in Seattle was held at Holy Names Academy {Ariana’s former high school!} for the ceremony and Washington Athletic Club for their reception.  They assembled a great vendor team to bring their concept and day to reality.  Here it is in the couple’s own words:

“We had a year and half engagement which gave us a lot of time to completely plan out our dream wedding! We knew we wanted to have a Catholic wedding so when choosing the church location Holy Names Academy Chapel, where Ariana went to high school, it was the perfect location.
We wanted our reception venue to be a mix of modern, elegant and romantic and the Washington Athletic Club Crystal ballroom included every aspect of that. The large crystal chandeliers were amazing centerpieces so it was easy to decorate around them as the focal point. Our wedding colors were soft neutrals – champagne, off white, cream and a touch of blush.
A fun aspect that we included in our reception was we made a signature drink in honor of our dog. We called it “The Gracie”. It was a light and refreshing champagne cocktail that was truly loved by both the men and women guests :)
We wanted our guests to really enjoy the reception and dance the night away so we had our DJ, Chris Graves, add extensive up-lighting to make the room glow in a purple/pink hew around the room (which bounced off the big chandeliers perfectly).
Our first dance wasn’t your typical song. We chose ” I’m Gonna Make You Love Me” by Dianna Ross & The Supremes. This song was very special to Brandon and I because we love oldies! Brandon grew up listening to oldies with his grandparents and we wanted an off the beaten path oldie song to start the night off right!
Another special moment of the wedding ceremony was having my cousin, Lauren Dawson, who is a professional opera singer, sing me down the aisle and also during our candle lighting ceremony. She sang “A thousand words” to walk me down the aisle and the beautiful “Ave Maria” during the candle lighting.”

The whole day was completely stunning so enjoy a look at it below!  Huge thanks to Ariana and Brandon for such a fantastic day and to our fellow vendors for all of their hard work!
