Lauren & Jake’s Arctic Club Wedding

Lauren and Jake were a long time coming.  We knew from the first time we met them that their wedding would be amazing.  The chemistry between these two is off the charts and if you saw any of their engagement photos on our Facebook or Instagram pages, you know what we’re talking about.

It had been about a year since we’d photographed an Arctic Club wedding.  In fact, it was Monica and Bub’s iconic wedding that was featured on the Junebug Wedding blog that caught Lauren’s eye.  We’re always up for a swanky wedding but add to that Lauren and Jake’s great attitudes and the fantastic vendor team they put together and we were over the moon.  Check out the slideshow of their day above and see what all the gushing is about!

New Seattle Venue – The Artist Loft

Seattle has a new industrial wedding venue but you really wouldn’t know unless you have inside info on what alley to enter from and up which elevator to go.  It’s the industrial event venue we’ve been needing for awhile and Hotel Max made it happen with their new space they call, The Artist Loft.  It’s full of paned window and exposed concrete.  Its a perfect blank canvas and we were there to photograph one of its first events – Ravishing Radish’s June open house.  Check it out – light, chalkboard wall, great architectural bones for uplighting, and tons of space.

Ravishing Radish put the East facing chalk wall to clever use by writing out, not only their menu on it, but by listing the hashtags for the evening’s event!  Combine that with Crimson Haze’s uplighting that smoothly transitioned through different colors that gave the room a constantly changing coloring, the space was transformed into something unique in just two elements.  July Floral did darling little arrangements on the cocktail tables with one large, sculptural piece that worked perfectly amongst the concrete.  Even though we were there as the sun was getting really intense and setting, the light in the space never became blinding and only added to the airy vibe.

This event featured the talents of:  Venue – Hotel Max’s Artists’ Loft /  Catering – Ravishing Radish /  Pies – A la Mode /  Florals – July Floral /  Lighting – Crimson Haze /  Paper Suite – Paper Fling /  Music – Bamboo Beats

A Peek at Portrait Folios

A box of folios arrived here in the studio from our lab and even though they include some surprises for some special people, we just couldn’t resist showing you how lovely they are!  Folios are quickly becoming a favorite display product around here since they do a great job pairing two images together to stand on their own inside a silk and mat folder.  They are self contained, don’t require assembly or framing, and you just want to touch them!  Stay tuned to our instagram – @alantephotography – to see the full image once the surprise has been revealed to the recipients!

A Winter Engagement Session in Seattle

If you can brave the chill, Winter in Seattle rewards you with some of the most beautiful light of the year to photograph in.  Ben and Marquinta met up with us in January {in that GORGEOUS green dress!} to run around in the city and vamp for the camera.  Here’s a look at their session!  We’re counting the days until their wedding with our dear colleagues, the coordination team Valley and Co!

Matt and Nolan’s Wedding at Four Seasons Seattle

Picked up the latest copy of Seattle Metropolitan Bride and Groom and turned to the back page?  If so, you’ve seen the cute mugs of Henry and Oliver – the French Bulldogs rescued by our wonderful grooms, Matt and Nolan.  These two created a swanky and refined wedding day and pioneered the first outdoor rooftop cocktail reception at the Four Seasons Hotel.  All the while, they found ways to fold in their pups – The furry ring bearers who are apt to give love to EVERYONE were slowed coming down by the aisle by Matt’s niece dropping goldfish instead of flower petals.  The party just grew and grew through the evening as the toasts brought up classic childhood stories and even a show and tell of an old cub scout uniform.  Perhaps the most jaw dropping was the surprise for everyone when a core group of friends busted out a dance that was straight out of boy band choreography.  It was the BEST!!!  Enjoy a look at the day below :)
